The Story
I've always been drawn to the power of songs. Long before I was leading worship, I was writing, recording, and performing original music. Along the way, I discovered that music has a unique ability to communicate truth, tell stories, and shape the hearts of those who hear it.
Many of my greatest influences came through the singer-songwriters I met while directing The Churchyard. Artists like George Ensle, Wendell Kimbrough, Terri Hendrix, Lloyd Maines, and others taught me that people don't simply remember melodies—they remember stories. That lesson has profoundly shaped both my songwriting and the way I lead worship.
The songs you'll find here come from many different seasons of life. Some were inspired by Scripture, others by conversations or personal experiences. Whether written for the church or for the listening room, my desire has always been the same: to tell the truth with honesty, beauty, and hope.
Today, I don't see songwriting and worship leading as separate callings. Each has made me better at the other. My prayer is that every song, whether sung by a congregation or heard through a pair of headphones, becomes a signpost pointing people toward Christ.
Original Albums
Breathe Easy was written after a conversation with a close friend whose son had been deployed to Iraq during the Gulf War. Wanting to offer comfort, I began reflecting on another Father who also sent His Son into battle—not against an earthly enemy, but against sin and death. My hope is that this song reminds anyone facing fear that, because of Christ, they can rest in the Father's love and breathe easy.
